This phrase comes from a talk at the Toronto Reference Library with Dionne Brand, Teju Cole, and Madeleine Thien. I didn't write down who specifically said this but it continued to stick with me after the talk.
The electronics on "what is close becomes relative" were all recorded by myself at a variety of locations such as Parry Sound, Denali National Park, and my dryer.
